Benjamin Franklin famously said that there were only two "sure things" in life: death and taxes. While he was - for better or worse - correct about those two inevitable certainties, Percent Pledge may have a third "sure thing" to add to Mr. Franklin's list.
On Thursday, September 5, Percent Pledge, One Tail at a Time, and Chicago Athletic Association co-hosted our first ever Puppy Walk & Yappy Hour. Human and four-legged attendees gathered on Michigan Avenue and joined together for a stroll in Grant Park. Amongst the walkers were some adorable, adoptable puppies from our friends at One Tail at a Time.
To help paint a picture, here's the perspective of one of those adorable pups.
Following the walk, both species headed up to CAA's trademark bocce ball court, where treats and toys were awaiting the dogs... and beer and food were awaiting their owners. Once settled in, attendees not only had the opportunity to make a monthly gift in support of OTAT's amazing work, but they had the chance to adopt the dogs OTAT brought to the event.
The event's attendance proved beyond a doubt that if you combine puppies, beer, and a great cause, turnout is a "sure thing". Finally, Mr. Franklin has a "sure thing" that people can actually look forward to!
